This small grain is a popular ingredient in many birdseed blends. Commonly called "common millet", "broom corn millet", or "hog millet", White Millet is the most popular variety of millet. It may be small but, this lightly little seed is packed with basic nutritional components that are extremely beneficial for your flying friends in your backyard. With 12% protein, 8% fibre, 4% fat, and containing calcium, B vitamins, and magnesium to name a few, it is no surprise why Millet is a common choice among Birders.
Platform feeds make feeding Millet easy as they have a tray bottom, not allowing seeds to fall through. It can also be offered in a hopper or mixed seed tube feeder but, not in a mesh or smaller tube feeder dedicated for Nyjer as Millet is not small enough for those.
